"Between January 4 and February 1, one third of all HBCUs received at least one bomb threat.
There is a serious need for intervention."

The Howard University Invent 2 Prevent team launched the Yard Safety Alliance campaign to bring awareness to the mental toll and lingering effects bomb threats bring to the HBCU community.

The Yard Safety Alliance hopes that with the implementation and expansion of its program:

Students will feel safe on their campuses.

Students and faculty will be familiar with their school's bomb threat protocol.

Students and faculty will have confidence in their ability to follow their school's protocol.

Residence life staff will know how to appropriately address students' needs (physical and mental) during and after a bomb threat is made.
